CITY LIVING with The Stein Team

All in all, February was a good month.  We saw a significant uptick in bids and accepted offers.  Moving into March and the start of the Spring buying season –driven by Wall Street bonuses and school admission news -  we are cautiously optimistic for BOTH buyers and sellers.  By no means has the market shifted away from a Buyer’s Market , however a combination of pent-up demand and far more responsible pricing has led to an increase in “meetings of the mind”.  As long as pricing continues to reflect the market conditions and buyers see some form of discount, we expect the shift from Winter into Spring to be active.

Below is a video of Jeremy sharing tips and advice on bidding wars in a buyer’s market.

Jeremy and Robin Stein were recognized by Sotheby’s International Realty this week as Top Producers of 2018. A luncheon at Manhatta restaurant in Financial District was held in their honor.

We'd like to thank all of our friends, family and clients for their continued support and we are confident that we will continue to achieve great results for our clients in the year to come.

Simple and monochromatic kitchens have been and will forever be staples in homes, but as of late, many are gravitating toward making more of an impact in their kitchens. That impact can be seen in the form of bolder color choices and graphic tiles. Backsplashes are becoming splashier and we've collected some of our favorites that are sure to give you some courage to add more of a splash in your own kitchen.

Jeremy and Robin are members of the Market Leader Partners Initiative, which is comprised of Sotheby's International Real Estate’s finest professionals in every key market around the world. The initiative is currently comprised of 47 members from 30 markets, whom are responsible for nearly $4 billion in sales in 2018.

Jeremy recently traveled to Austin, Texas for a Market Leaders Summit, in which the Market Leaders discussed best practices, collaboration, and strategic growth within the global real estate space. Jeremy is seen speaking at the event in the above photo.

Amid the backdrop of a slowing market in 2018, Sotheby’s International Realty proudly announced this past week a monumental milestone: a new company record for global annual sales volume of $112 billion. Nationally affiliated agents closed more than $100 billion in sales volume, while international agents achieved more than $12 billion in sales volume.

The company also reported growth across its global network of franchises - at the end of the year, the company had grown by 20 offices and 500 affiliated agents to 990 total offices worldwide and more than 22,500 agents, with the brand expanding to more than a dozen new markets.

With the launch of new technology and tools, Sotheby's continues to provide industry-leading levels of service that sales associates affiliated with the brand around the world are known for. You can read more about this exciting milestone in an article published by Inman by following the link below.

Shopping is considered an art on the upper stretches of Fifth Avenue. From Rockefeller Center to The Plaza, the Avenue is peppered with the flagship stores of some of retail's biggest names: Tiffany & Co., Bergdorf Goodman, Versace, and Prada, to only name a few. But, there's been a fashion heavyweight that's been missing in on the action, as of late: Chanel.

The world-renowned French brand recently rang in the new year by reopening it's flagship store, the largest it's ever built at 14,000 square feet, right off Fifth on East 57th Street. Having undergone a drastic remodel under the guise of innovative architect Peter Marino, the new store screams luxury, inside and out, from the striking glass façade covering six stories, and an expansion of retail space from three to five floors. Notably marked by its graphic exterior composed of white printed glass panels framed by a thin black metal grid, Marino’s design references the brand’s color palette and emblematic tweed. The "pièce de résistance" of the space, however, is the  60-foot tall sculpture evoking a strand of timeless pearls, a nod to the pearl necklaces once worn by Coco Chanel. Designed by Jean-Michel Othoniel, the sculpture extends down a central staircase within the store, as seen in the photograph above.

As it seems, all eyes are on Peter Marino in New York. A stone's throw away from Chanel, you will find The Lobster Club, a colorful restaurant under famous sushi Chef Tasuku Marakami in the historic Seagram building that was designed by Marino. Opened in 2017, it's still one of the city's hardest reservations to nab. And if Marino's resumé was not full enough, he's putting his name on one of Manhattan's most unique new residential developments,  The Getty. Comprised of six bespoke residences over twelve floors, it already sold its three-story penthouse for $59 million ahead of completion.
